Oogie Boogie Slushy Recipe pinit

Bring a little spooky Disney magic home with this Oogie Boogie Slushy Recipe, inspired by the Halloween treat served at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026. This refreshing frozen apple cider slushy is topped with fluffy cinnamon whipped cream and colorful sour gummy candy for the perfect combination of sweet, tart, and creamy flavors. This homemade version is easy to prepare with just a handful of ingredients and makes a fun Halloween party drink for Disney fans of all ages.

Cooking Tips

Choose the right apple cider. Use refrigerated, unfiltered apple cider rather than apple cider vinegar or sparkling cider. Fresh apple cider gives the slushy a richer apple flavor and natural sweetness. If you prefer a tart green apple flavor, substitute up to 1 cup of the cider with unsweetened green apple juice.

Get the perfect slushy consistency. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add chilled apple cider a tablespoon at a time. If it becomes too thin, add more frozen cider cubes or a handful of ice and blend again.

Make the cinnamon whipped cream ahead of time. Prepare the whipped cream several hours in advance and refrigerate in an airtight container. Give it a quick whisk before piping if it has softened.

Add the gummy candy just before serving. Sour gummy worms work especially well because they give the drink a creepy, colorful appearance inspired by Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Adding them at the last minute also prevents them from getting soggy.

Quick shortcut: If you don’t have time to freeze apple cider, blend 2 cups of cold apple cider with 3 cups of ice. The apple flavor will be a little lighter, but it creates a refreshing slushy in minutes.

Description

Inspired by Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, this Oogie Boogie Slushy combines refreshing frozen apple cider with fluffy cinnamon whipped cream and colorful sour gummy candy for a deliciously spooky Disney Halloween treat.

Ingredients

Frozen Apple Cider Slushy

Cinnamon Whipped Cream

Topping

Instructions

Freeze the Apple Cider

  1. Pour 3 cups of apple cider into ice cube trays.

  2. Freeze for at least 4–6 hours, or until completely solid.
  3. Refrigerate the remaining 1 cup of apple cider until ready to use. Freezing the apple cider instead of using only regular ice cubes helps create a concentrated apple flavor without watering down the slushy.

Make the Cinnamon Whipped Cream

  1. Add the cold heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.

  2. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until medium-stiff peaks form.
  3. Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare the Apple Cider Slushy

  1. Add the frozen apple cider cubes to a high-powered blender.

  2. Pour in the remaining 1 cup of chilled apple cider.
  3. Add the regular ice cubes and lemon juice, if using.
  4. Blend until thick, smooth, and slushy.
  5. Taste and add sugar if you prefer a sweeter drink. Blend briefly to combine. The finished slushy should have a thick, spoonable consistency while still being easy to drink through a wide straw.

Assemble the Oogie Boogie Slushy

  1. Divide the frozen apple cider mixture among four clear serving glasses.

  2. Pipe a generous swirl of cinnamon whipped cream over each slushy.
  3. Arrange 2–3 sour gummy worms on top of the whipped cream, allowing some to hang over the sides.
  4. Sprinkle lightly with additional cinnamon, if desired.
  5. Serve immediately with a wide straw or spoon.
