Oreo-Crusted Fried Hawaiian Rolls with Hot Fudge.
Haunted Fried Hawaiian Rolls Recipe pinit

This Haunted Fried Hawaiian Rolls recipe is inspired by the seasonal treat from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Soft Hawaiian rolls are fried until golden, rolled in crushed Oreo cookies, and finished with warm hot fudge and festive Halloween sprinkles for a rich, spooky dessert that’s easy to recreate at home with just a few ingredients.

Cooking Tips

Keep the oil close to 350°F. If it’s too cool, the rolls will absorb too much oil; if it’s too hot, they’ll brown before warming through. I like to use a Candy Thermometer to ensure an even temperature. I also fry the Hawaiian rolls one at a time because they cook so quickly. You don’t want to burn them. Crush the Oreos very finely so they stick better to the freshly fried rolls. For the full Halloween effect, use a combination of orange, purple, green, and black sprinkles. I used Sweets Indeed Halloween Sprinkles with Bats & Pumpkins. You could also add candy eyeballs for an extra spooky touch.

Optional serving idea: Serve three rolls on a skewer and drizzle the hot fudge back and forth over the top to resemble the presentation of a theme-park snack.

Description

Soft Hawaiian rolls are fried until golden, coated in crushed Oreo cookies, then drizzled with warm hot fudge and topped with festive Halloween sprinkles for a spooky Disney-inspired treat.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo coating. Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor or zip-top bag and crush them into fine crumbs. Combine the crumbs with the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  2. Heat the oil. Add about 2 inches of oil to a heavy saucepan or Dutch oven. Heat to 350°F.
  3. Fry the Hawaiian rolls. Carefully place 2 or 3 rolls at a time into the hot oil. Fry for about 30–45 seconds per side, turning until the outside is golden brown and slightly crisp.
  4. Coat with Oreo crumbs. Remove the rolls with a slotted spoon and briefly drain them on paper towels. While they're still warm, immediately roll each one in the Oreo mixture, gently pressing the crumbs onto the surface.
  5. Add the toppings. Arrange the fried rolls on a plate or thread them onto wooden skewers. Drizzle generously with warm hot fudge.
  6. Make them haunted. Finish with Halloween sprinkles.

  7. Serve immediately. These are best while the outside is warm and crispy and the center is still soft and fluffy. Serve warm ♨ and enjoy!
