Bring a little bit of Pandora home with this colorful Night Blossom drink inspired by Pongu Pongu in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. With its vibrant layers of sweet apple, tangy limeade, fruity desert pear, and fun passion fruit popping boba, this frozen drink is just as eye-catching as it is refreshing. Now, you can make the Night Blossom Animal Kingdom recipe in the comfort of your own kitchen for warm afternoons, themed parties, or anytime you’re missing the sights and flavors of Pandora.

Cooking Tips

For the brightest layers, make both mixtures thick enough to hold their shape. Add a little more ice if either mixture becomes too thin. Desert pear syrup provides the closest color and flavor, but prickly pear syrup can be used as a substitute. Chill the apple juice and soda before blending so the drinks stay frozen longer. You’ll need a good blender for this recipe. I recommend the BLACK+DECKER Crush Master Blender.

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen limeade concentrate, ice, lemon-lime soda, and green food coloring to a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy. Transfer it to a bowl or measuring cup and place it in the freezer while you prepare the second layer.

  2. Rinse the blender. Add the apple juice, ice, desert pear syrup, limeade concentrate, and pink food coloring. Blend until thick and slushy.

  3. Spoon or pour half of the green lime mixture into the bottom of each glass.

  4. Slowly add the pink mixture over the green layer. Pour it over the back of a spoon to help keep the colors separated.

  5. Add another small spoonful of the green mixture on top, creating the Night Blossom’s colorful layered appearance.

  6. Top each drink with passion fruit popping boba. Serve immediately with a wide straw and enjoy!
