Bring a little Halloween magic home with this Pumpkin Patch Mini Churros Recipe, inspired by the festive treats served at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026! These bite-sized churros are fried until golden and crispy, rolled in bright orange sugar, and served with a rich, creamy pumpkin cheesecake dip. The combination of warm, sugary churros and cool, pumpkin-spiced cheesecake makes every bite irresistible. Whether you're missing the magic of Disney World or planning a Halloween party at home, this easy copycat recipe is a delicious way to celebrate the fall season!
Cooking Tips
The secret to making perfect mini churros is maintaining the correct frying temperature. Keep the oil around 350°F so the churros develop a crispy golden exterior without becoming greasy. I like to use a candy thermometer to ensure an even temperature. Use a large star-shaped piping tip to create the signature ridges, which help the orange sugar cling to every bite. For the cheesecake dip, make sure the cream cheese is completely softened before mixing so the texture stays silky and smooth. You can prepare the dip up to two days in advance and store it in the refrigerator, making this recipe especially convenient for Halloween parties.
Storage and Reheating
The pumpkin cheesecake dip can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Leftover churros are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in an air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes to help restore their crispiness.
Recipe note: This is an original Disney-inspired copycat based on the published menu description, not an official Disney recipe. The pumpkin flavor is concentrated in the cheesecake dip, while the churros themselves have a traditional sweet dough and colorful sugar coating.

Ingredients
For the Mini Churros
1cup water
2tablespoons unsalted butter
1tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4teaspoon salt
1cup all-purpose flour
1large egg
1/2teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable or canola oil, for frying
For the Orange Sugar Coating
1/2cup granulated sugar
2–3 drops orange food coloring, preferably gel
1/4teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
For the Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip
8ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1/3cup powdered sugar
1teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2cup whipped topping, thawed
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip
1
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
2
Add the pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
3
Beat until creamy and completely combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
4
Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
5
Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes while preparing the churros.
Prepare the Orange Sugar
6
Place the granulated sugar in a small zip-top bag or bowl.
7
Add the orange food coloring and mix thoroughly until the sugar develops an even orange color. Break apart any clumps.
8
If using cinnamon, stir it into the colored sugar.
Make the Mini Churros
9
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
10
Reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth dough that pulls away from the sides of the saucepan.
11
Continue stirring and cooking for approximately 1 minute to remove excess moisture.
12
Remove from the heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
13
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing vigorously until fully incorporated. The dough should become smooth, thick, and pipeable.
14
Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
Fry the Churros
15
Heat approximately 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep, heavy-bottomed saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
16
Pipe a few mini churros 2-4 inches long into the hot oil cutting them off with kitchen shears, working in small batches to avoid overcrowding.
17
Fry for approximately 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crisp.
18
Remove the churros using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain briefly.
19
While the churros are still warm, roll them in the orange sugar until evenly coated.
20
Repeat with the remaining churro dough, maintaining the oil temperature between batches.
Serve
21
Arrange the orange sugar-coated mini churros on a serving platter or in small paper food trays.
22
Spoon the chilled pumpkin cheesecake dip into individual dipping cups and serve alongside the warm churros.
23
For a little extra Halloween magic, garnish the cheesecake dip with a light dusting of pumpkin pie spice.
