Bring a taste of Disney’s BoardWalk home with this Pumpkin Cheesecake Fried Hawaiian Rolls recipe inspired by Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Sweet Hawaiian rolls are fried until golden, coated in warm pumpkin spice sugar, and finished with a rich cream cheese frosting and pumpkin pie drizzle. The result is a sweet, cozy fall treat that combines crisp edges, soft, fluffy bread, and creamy pumpkin cheesecake flavor in every bite.
Cooking Tips
The key is to fry the Hawaiian rolls very quickly. Leaving them in the oil too long can make the bread greasy rather than crisp. Keep the oil close to 350°F and work in small batches so the temperature doesn't drop significantly. I like to use a Candy Thermometer to ensure that the oil stays around 350°F.
Coat the rolls in the pumpkin spice sugar while they're still warm so the sugar sticks to the lightly oily exterior. For the closest presentation to the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs version, don't fill the rolls with cheesecake. The current menu description identifies cream cheese frosting and pumpkin pie drizzle as toppings.
This recipe is one of my favorite Disney Parks recipes. It is perfect for a fall snack or dessert. If you want to make another Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs recipe at home, try my Deep-Fried Hawaiian Rolls recipe. I hope you enjoy my favorite Disney Parks recipes!

Sweet Hawaiian rolls are deep-fried until golden, coated in pumpkin spice sugar, and topped with cream cheese frosting and a rich pumpkin pie drizzle.
Ingredients
For the fried rolls
6 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
Pumpkin Spice Sugar
1/2cup granulated sugar
1teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Cream Cheese Frosting
4ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2cup powdered sugar
1/2teaspoon vanilla extract
1–2tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Pumpkin Pie Drizzle
1/4cup pumpkin puree
1/3cup powdered sugar
1tablespoon heavy cream or milk
1/4teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1
Make the pumpkin spice sugar. Combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
2
Prepare the cream cheese frosting. Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add the cream a little at a time until the frosting is thin enough to drizzle but still thick and creamy. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag.
3
Make the pumpkin pie drizzle. Whisk together the pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, cream, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla until completely smooth. It should have a pourable consistency. Add another teaspoon of cream if needed.
4
Heat the oil. Add about 2 inches of oil to a heavy saucepan or Dutch oven and heat to 350°F.
5
Fry the Hawaiian rolls. Carefully add 1-2 rolls at a time. Fry for about 10–20 seconds per side, turning as needed, until the outside is deep golden brown and slightly crisp. Because the rolls are already baked, you're only trying to crisp and warm them rather than cook them through.
6
Coat with pumpkin spice sugar. Remove the rolls from the oil and briefly drain on paper towels. While they're still hot, roll each one generously in the pumpkin spice sugar.
7
Add the cheesecake topping. Arrange three fried rolls on a plate or skewer to mimic the BoardWalk presentation. Drizzle generously with the cream cheese frosting.
8
Finish with pumpkin pie drizzle. Spoon or pipe the pumpkin mixture over the cream cheese frosting. Serve immediately while the rolls are warm and crisp ♨ and enjoy!
