Description

Walt Disney's Chili recipe is perfect for a large family or party. Made with pinto beans, tomatoes, and classic seasoning, this dish is packed with protein and flavor.

Ingredients
  • 2 lb dry pinto beans
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 28 oz chopped tomatoes
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Rinse beans before soaking overnight in cold water.

  2. Drain fully soaked beans and place in a 2 quart saucepan with enough water to cover 2 inches above the beans.

  3. Add onion and simmer, covered, for 2 hours until beans are tender.

  4. Heat oil in a large pan and saute the garlic until golden.

  5. Add beef and celery to the pan and cook until beef is lightly browned.

  6. Add chili powder, paprika, and thyme. Stir in the chopped tomatoes before covering and simmering for one hour.

  7. Combine beans and meat mixture, stirring gently.

  8. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  9. Serve hot with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream ♨, enjoy!
