Few dining experiences at Walt Disney World immerse guests in old-world charm quite like Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. Nestled on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, this family-friendly spot draws inspiration from the beloved Disney classic, Lady and the Tramp. As soon as you step in, you’ll find yourself in a quaint Italian eatery, complete with checkered tablecloths, romantic touches, and tantalizing aromas that make your mouth water. One of the restaurant’s most memorable offerings is a shareable warm garlic bread paired with a decadent cheese sauce. Here's how you can make the Tony's Town Square Restaurant Garlic Bread recipe.
Cooking Tips
When preparing this dish, be sure to use fresh garlic and real butter for maximum flavor—subpar substitutes can diminish the rich, decadent taste. Let the butter soften at room temperature (or cook in the microwave for about 30 seconds) before mixing in the herbs to ensure a smooth, spreadable consistency. Keep a close eye on the bread as it bakes, pulling it from the oven the moment the edges turn golden so the center stays soft and moist. For the cheese sauce, whisk constantly when adding the milk to the roux to avoid lumps, and reduce the heat to low before incorporating the cheese to prevent it from burning. If the sauce thickens too much, gently stir in a splash of milk to restore its velvety texture. Experiment with fresh herbs and different cheeses for unique flavor twists—fontina or provolone can add a delicious spin on the classic sauce.

Ingredients
Garlic Bread Ingredients
1 loaf of italian or french bread
1/2cup butter (softened)
1tbsp extra virgin olive oil
4 garlic cloves
1tsp dried oregano
1tsp dried basil
1/4tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4tsp pepper (or to taste)
Cheese Sauce Ingredients
2tbsp butter
2tbsp all-purpose flour
1.5cups milk (or half and half for richer sauce)
1.5cups mozzarella (shredded)
1.5cups parmesan (shredded)
.25tsp salt (or to taste)
.25tsp pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup softened butter, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.
Slice Italian or french bread in half lengthwise. Generously coat with the garlic butter mixture.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the bread is crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
Remove from the oven and cut into small pieces, about 2 inches wide.
To make the cheese sauce, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter. Whisk in 2 tbsp flour to make a roux and continue to cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the roux turns a light golden color.
Slowly pour in 1.5 cups of milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Heat this mixture for about 2–3 minutes or until it slightly thickens.
Lower the heat to medium-low. Stir 1/2 cup of mozzarella and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese until they melt and the sauce becomes smooth.
Pour the sauce on top of the garlic bread or put it in a bowl for dipping ♨ and enjoy!
