The Mickey beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland are a delightful treat that combines the whimsical charm of Disney with the classic New Orleans pastry. Shaped like Mickey Mouse’s iconic silhouette, these beignets are freshly made and generously dusted with powdered sugar, offering a sweet and airy bite. The Mint Julep Bar, located in the heart of New Orleans Square, provides a perfect setting to enjoy these treats alongside their signature non-alcoholic mint julep, a refreshing counterpart to the warm, fluffy Mickey beignets. Whether you’re starting your day or taking a midday break, the Mickey beignets are a beloved indulgence that add a touch of magic to the Disneyland experience. Now, you can recreate the magic in your own kitchen with this Mickey beignets recipe.

Cooking Tips

You will need a standing mixer with a dough hook to make these beignets. I like the Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer. You will also need a Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter. If you don’t have one, you can just cut the beignets into square shapes. I also used a Candy Thermometer to ensure that the cooking oil stayed at 350 degrees fahrenheit which helped the Mickey beignets to cook evenly.

The ingredients for the Mickey Beignets recipe include:

  • Dry yeast
  • Warm water (105ยฐ)
  • Sugar
  • Vegetable shortening
  • Salt
  • Heavy cream

  • Boiling water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

The Mickey beignets recipe is easy to make and it is the best treat to make when you’re missing Disneyland or Walt Disney World.
