The Cheeseburger Pods at Satu'li Canteen in Walt Disney World have become a phenomenon, captivating visitors with their unique and delicious twist on a classic American favorite. These bite-sized delights have gained immense popularity and have quickly become a must-try item for guests of all ages. The combination of flavors, convenience, and the immersive dining experience they offer has contributed to their widespread appeal. You can easily make these at home using my tried and true Disney Cheeseburger Pods recipe!

The Cheeseburger Pods feature a soft, steamed bao bun filled with a savory blend of ground beef, cheese, and pickles. To make this recipe easier, we will use refrigerated biscuits instead of making the bao bun dough by scratch. This fusion of traditional Asian steamed buns and the quintessential American cheeseburger creates a delightful and unexpected culinary adventure. The harmony of flavors, including the juiciness of the beef, the melted cheese, and the tangy pickles, leaves a lasting impression on taste buds and keeps guests coming back for more.

This recipe is fairly simple to make but folding the bao buns can be tricky. I certainly didn't do it perfectly but they still tasted great! If you need guidance, check out this video I found showing you how to fold the perfect bao bun. I like to steam them using a rice cooker but you can also use a steam basket or instant pot.

The ingredients for this recipe include:

  • Lean ground beef
  • Ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and dill pickle relish
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Refrigerated biscuits

That's it! You do not have to buy a lot of ingredients to make this recipe and you probably have some of the ingredients already! That makes this a cheap option for a quick dinner or snack. If you want to make the vegan version, check out this recipe.

There is one bonus tip I have for you to make these Cheeseburger Pods even better: dip them in Japanese Yum Yum Sauce!
